A brief History of the BIC House system
In 1985 the rector Dr.Rafael Ortegon, took another step in consolidating his dream of a British orientated College here in Barranquilla, the implementation of a College House System.
Based on the house systems operating in the majority of private schools in England, we designed and put into practice the British International College House System.
Each House is named after a notable historic leader who, in his or her lifetime, emulated the leadership ideals of The British International College and influenced the world. Each House has unique values and traditions.
There are four houses:

Churchill, remembers the famous British politician, whose courage, defiance, and Bull-dog tenacity during World war 11, transmitted hope and ultimately led to victory, in the face of
seemingly impossible odds; Yellow the colour chosen, symbolizes Hope and Peace.
The Bull ; Tenacity and courage.

Shakespeare, for the renowned English poet and playwright; whose dramatic Hamlet, and emotive Romeo and Juliet are as familiar in Japan as they are in England. What other colour but Red could symbolize such Passion and zest to overcome adversity.

Darwin the distinguished scholarly English botanist, and scientist who; with his discoveries and innovative theories revolutionized the scientific world. Green symbolizes the Schools commitment and concern for the ecology of our environment.
The Dolphin; pioneering spirit and dedication.

Wellington, Honours the legendary English hero, whose conclusive victory over Napoleon, endorsed the British resolve and reputation, maintaining individual freedom and national liberty.Blue symbolizes determination, integrity and honour in defense of ones principle.
