All appointed staff will be guaranteed IB examination classes and will be expected to play a leading role in curriculum development and to share their unique knowledge, preparation and experience with their Colombian colleagues.

Science specialists are expected to offer a second subject to at least GCSE level to allow us to reinforce the Middle Years Science Curriculum and to teach a Year 8 and/or Year 9 Integrated Science class. The school possesses three secondary school laboratories, two of which have been renovated this year and will be favourably resourced over the next year. Newly appointed science teachers are required to assist in thoroughly overhauling the laboratory programme (Years 8 – 13) in step with the Primary School implementation of the Ginn New Star Science scheme.

In Mathematics a senior position of responsibility could be available to a suitable candidate for overall curriculum supervision (Y7 – Y13) and for liaison with the primary school mathematics curriculum coordinator.

Positions of responsibility for curriculum development are therefore available to appropriate candidates in all four subject areas.

Information packages and invitations to interview in Barranquilla, Bogotá, London or Manchester will be sent to suitably qualified candidates. Candidates that are not able to get to any of these interview venues will also be seriously considered through telephone interviews.

You are advised to use link Location and then go to Barranquilla Online

Use Fotos and look up Hotel El Prado 1,2 and 3 which is the Recreational Club to which all overseas contracted staff hold annual subscriptions.

Look up Salgar located 15 minutes by car from the school gates. Two very prestigious coastal resorts are Cartagena, 110 minutes by car and Santa Marta, 90 minutes by car, can be reached by door to door taxi services for the modest sum of £12 return. Scuba diving is very popular at both these resorts but most frequented is the fishing village of Taganga a few miles down the road from Santa Marta, where a full days diving is possible for about £20 and Hotels at £6 per night.
