The physical appearance of the British International School is not coincidental. It is built in an English style but with an international dimension. Its three characteristic hallmarks: the International Baccalaureate, Citizenship and Civics - Social Behaviour, and Bilingual Education are present symbolically in the front entrance to the institution. The first two are symbolised by two towers that represent an academic pillar and an educational pillar bordering the driveway, and the third is represented by the English arched bridge connecting the two towers.
EMBLEM
Evoking in its ensemble a medieval heraldic tradition, with an oval-shaped body outlined by rivets, the emblem boasts a king’s crown on top, symbolising authority, confidence and dignity. The body of the British International School crest is divided into three parts as follows: the top two represent the union between Colombia and Great Britain, the first represented by the Colombian national emblem and the second by the Lions, British royal symbols, printed in yellow on a red background. The lower third, with the facade of the School, displays the symbolism of the hallmarks already explained.
ANTHEM
These are the days
Spent in the sun
These are the days
Full of life, full of fun.
We sing for you
Mary our Mother
All of us here
Are sisters and brothers
A school of many nations
Led by God above
Working, playing
All with love
Upward and upward
We will fly
Higher and higher in the sky
For you we try our best
For you we laugh and sing
Help us to follow you
And give you everything
Be with us now
In school and in rest
Watch over us Lord
And please bless B.I.C.
