Historian and Political Scientist from Universidad de los Andes, with an Executive MBA from the Polytechnic University of Valencia and a graduate of the Senior Business Management Program at INALDE–University of La Sabana. With 20 years of experience leading educational transformation and innovation, teacher of Global Politics and Social Sciences in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. He is passionate about innovation and educating global citizens.

Head of Early Years – Graciela Vásquez

Speech-Language Pathologist from Universidad del Rosario, specializing in Cognitive and Learning Disorders. With over 25 years at BIS, she has driven key academic initiatives such as the PRALE programme to reinforce literacy. A wife, mother of three, and woman of faith, her family's connection to the school strengthens her commitment. She highlights the strong values-based education and is motivated to work for the holistic well-being of every student.

Head of Primary – Jacqueline Dangond

Licensed in Modern Languages with an emphasis in English and French from Universidad San Buenaventura, specialist in Educational Management and Administration from Universidad de la Sabana, and currently a master’s candidate in Education with an emphasis on Leadership of Educational Institutions at Universidad del Norte. She firmly believes in leadership through example to consolidate a culture based on respect, equality, and discipline.

Head of Secondary – Guisella Pilonieta

Bachelor of Education from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and Master's in Educational Administration from the University of Barcelona. A leader of the IB MYP programme with 24 years of experience at BIS. A passionate Language and Literature teacher, she enjoys art and nature in her free time. She values the school's holistic approach to student development and is deeply motivated by education's transformative power to shape committed global leaders.

Head of Admissions – Fayruz Khouri

Psychologist with a master’s in education and over 20 years of experience in early childhood education. She has been at BIS for 16 years, having served as a Nursery and Reception teacher, and as pedagogical advisor for the Bilingualism Program of the Alcaldía del Atlántico. She currently leads the Admissions area, guiding families through the process with a close, personalized approach. Wife and mother of three, she deeply understands the needs of families.

Head of HR & HSEQ – Melissa Benedetti

Mechanical Engineer, with specializations in Process Management and Human Resources, and an Executive MBA. With over 15 years of experience leading strategic areas, she drives continuous process improvement. She practices taekwondo, enjoys crafts, and is a BIS parent, which allows her to maintain a close connection with the community. She values the focus on holistic education and is motivated to contribute to developing a talented, committed team dedicated to excellence.

Head of ICT & Knowledge Centre – Carlos Ospina

Electronic Engineer from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, with over 30 years of experience implementing new technologies and optimizing operational processes. A black belt in Karate-Do, he enjoys outdoor activities, movies, and family life; his daughters are BIS graduates. He values the school's academic excellence and positive energy and is motivated to contribute his experience to forming well-rounded citizens.

Academic Deputy – Erika Vargas

With over two decades at BIS, she led the optimization of the enrolment process to enhance the family experience through agile and transparent procedures. Her children are proud graduates of the school, reflecting her deep personal and professional connection. She values the respect and teamwork that defines the institutional culture and is motivated to contribute to forming citizens of the world.

Designated Safeguarding Lead – Leonardo Arteta

Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and Physics with 25 years of experience. He has served as Academic Coordinator at Colegio Biffi, La Salle, among others, and is pursuing a Master's in Prevention of Addictive Behaviours in Children and Adolescents. Passionate about education with a human touch, he values dialogue and continuous learning. He is motivated to educate from a place of care and shared responsibility, committed to safeguarding and the holistic well-being of every student.
